Job Description
Shulman Rogers is seeking a Billing Coordinator to join their Accounting team. The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for managing the complete billing process for assigned attorneys and clients. Candidates should have at least two years' billing experience, preferably in the professional services industry, with specific law firm experience preferred.
Primary Duties:
- Prepare, review, edit, and distribute monthly prebills and invoices in accordance with client agreements and firm policies.
- Ensure billing accuracy by auditing time entries, expenses, rate arrangements, alternative fee agreements, and compliance with client guidelines.
- Assist e-billing team with the submission of electronic invoices, including resolving rejections and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, billing arrangements, timekeeper rates, write-offs, and approvals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma required, college degree in a business or accounting field preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with legal billing software such as Elite or Aderant strongly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of basic accounting principles and law firm billing practices.
- Demonstrated analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong data entry, organizational, attention-to-detail, and time-management skills.
