Job Description

Billing Specialist

A business runs better when invoices go out on time, payments are recorded correctly, and billing records are organized and up to date. We're looking for someone who takes pride in handling that work carefully and consistently.

What is the pay?

$50,000 - $62,000 per year, based on experience
Individual performance-based bonus up to 10% of salary
Company performance-based bonus up to 10% of salary

What will I be doing?

Creating and sending invoices based on completed work, recurring billing schedules, or other client direction
Updating customer account details and invoice records in internal systems
Recording incoming payments and applying them accurately to customer accounts
Tracking unpaid invoices and following up on past-due balances as directed
Entering vendor invoices, bills, and related details into internal systems accurately and on time
Reviewing invoices and payments for missing information, errors, or discrepancies
Responding to routine billing questions and related requests
Preparing billing reports, account summaries, and other support materials as needed
Following established processes to deliver consistent, high-quality billing support

What are the requirements?

Strong attention to detail
Excellent written communication, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Strong organizational, task management, and follow-through skills
Comfortable working with numbers, billing records, and customer/vendor account information
Comfortable navigating multiple software systems simultaneously
Fast, reliable internet connection and a distraction-free work environment

What additional qualifications could I have?

1+ year of experience supporting accounts receivable, accounts payable, or related back-office workflows
Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom, accounting software, invoicing software, and project management tools
