Blow Moulding Shift Manager
Location: Severnside
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)
About the role
We're looking for a strong, people‑led Blow Moulding Shift Manager to lead performance on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern at our Severnside operation.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, responsible for delivering safe, compliant and efficient production, while developing and engaging teams to achieve operational excellence. You'll play a key part in delivering the Blow Moulding strategy, driving continuous improvement, and embedding strong standards across Health & Safety, Quality, Cost and Engineering performance.
Key responsibilities
Leading and managing the team
- Lead, coach and engage shift teams to consistently deliver safety, quality and performance targets
- Ensure company policies, procedures and site standards are consistently followed
- Set clear objectives and performance goals, managing capability, attendance and conduct
- Create a positive, high‑performance culture through visible leadership and engagement
- Support recruitment, onboarding and development of team members
Health, safety, environment & quality
- Champion a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring safe systems of work are followed
- Lead investigations, ensuring incidents and near misses are captured, root causes identified and actions closed
- Drive compliance with food safety, quality and environmental standards
- Complete audits, QCP checks and ensure actions are signed off and sustained
Operational performance & continuous improvement
- Deliver day‑to‑day production performance against plan, driving pace and discipline
- Identify performance gaps and lead corrective actions to improve output, waste and cost
- Embed problem‑solving and continuous improvement using KPI, SPC and performance data
- Lead effective shift handovers to ensure continuity and visibility of issues
- Support asset care, TPM activities and close collaboration with Engineering
What we're looking for
- Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment (blow moulding or automated processing highly desirable)
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, Quality and performance management
- Confident people manager with the ability to coach, challenge and develop others
- Structured and data‑driven, with strong problem‑solving capability
- Comfortable working a 4 on / 4 off rotating days and nights shift pattern
