Job Description
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period, all applicants will be considered equally.
GENERAL SUMMARY:This position is responsible for the repair, PM, QA, installation, modification and technical advice for all Radiologic, Laboratory, MRI, Ultrasound equipment, as well as other clinical and non-clinical equipment as assigned by the Manager of Clinical Engineering. This position is also responsible for implementation and maintaining the Medical Equipment Management Plan in accordance with JCAHO requirements.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Skills Required:1. Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related degree required.2. Must possess valid New York State driver's license and be insurable.3. 5 years experience as a BMET, or 5 years prior radiology-related experience required.4. Strong troubleshooting and electronic skills required.5. Strong organizational and communication skills required.As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
