Behavioral Health Counselor - Brook Lane (Cumberland, MD)
Brook Lane is seeking a compassionate and motivated LMSW, LGPC, LCSW‑C, or LCPC to join our Cumberland, MD team. This role offers meaningful autonomy and the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of patients and families through high‑quality, professional counseling services.
About the Role
In this position, you will function with independence and clinical judgment while providing therapeutic services across a diverse patient population. You will:
- Complete psychosocial and mental health assessments to identify patient needs.
- Diagnose, counsel, and support patients and families through a variety of behavioral health challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote healing, stability, and improved functioning.
- Provide education, resources, and referrals to help patients adjust to illness and maintain optimal personal and family well‑being.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient‑centered care.

Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience
- Preferred: One year of experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
Licensure / Certification
- Must hold LMSW, LGPC, LCSW‑C, or LCPC licensure in the State of Maryland.
- Must be licensed at least at the graduate level; LCSW‑C preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of counseling principles, practices, and professional standards.
- Knowledge of community resources and social service systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to build rapport, maintain professionalism, and support patients with empathy and clinical expertise.
