Job Description
Pay Rate: $30 - $40 per hour
Summary:
- Duration: Temp-to-Perm
- Location: Newport News, VA
- Work Mode: Onsite
Responsibilities:
- Use independent judgment and analytical skills in a highly computerized environment.
- Support complex accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and cost-analysis functions.
- Prepare and analyze monthly estimated contractual adjustments, charity, and bad debt.
- Prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports and settlements.
- Prepare and maintain annual budgets.
- Handle Federal, State, and Local tax returns.
- Report to the state COPN Regulatory Authority.
- Evaluate the theoretical integrity of accounting functions and recommend or implement improvements based on analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business with a concentration in Accounting (approximately 21 credit hours in accounting).
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience involving analysis, budgeting, and financial statements.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and formulas.
- Comfortable working with detailed financial data and day-to-day accounting functions.
Preferred Skills:
- Healthcare accounting/finance experience.
- Medicare/Medicaid cost-reporting or settlement experience.
- Contractual adjustment, charity, or bad-debt analysis.
- Regulatory reporting experience.
- Master's Degree and/or CPA as additional preferred qualifications.
