Job Description

BAS / Controls Project Manager

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced and motivated BAS / Controls Project Manager to lead Building Automation and DDC controls projects from initial planning through commissioning and final closeout. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong communication with clients, field teams, and vendors.Columbia, South Carolina$85,000 – $115,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

Manage BAS/DDC controls projects from kickoff through completion
Coordinate technicians, programmers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams
Monitor project schedules, budgets, job costs, materials, and change orders
Oversee submittals, control sequences, installation planning, startup, commissioning, and project closeout
Maintain clear communication with customers, project stakeholders, and field personnel
Support problem-solving efforts to keep projects moving efficiently and successfully
Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and performance expectations

Qualifications

5+ years of experience managing BAS, HVAC controls, or DDC systems projects
Strong knowledge of HVAC controls systems, automation networks, and DDC applications
Experience with platforms such as Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls (JCI), Honeywell, or Schneider Electric
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, control drawings, and sequences of operation
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
Experience with ERP or construction/project management software is a plus
