This role is essential to our operations-ensuring materials are delivered safely, accurately, and professionally to our customers' job sites.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding position focused primarily on unloading materials, with some driving responsibilities.
Position Overview
The Building Materials Delivery Associate is responsible for the safe delivery of materials to residential construction sites. Approximately 70% of the role involves unloading materials by hand, including doors, trim, and millwork, while 30% involves local driving (Non-CDL).
This position works directly on job sites and plays a key role in ensuring materials are placed where they are needed for our builders and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver building materials to residential construction sites in a safe and timely manner
- Unload doors, millwork, and other materials by hand, placing them in designated areas within the home or job site
- Carry materials into homes, including navigating stairs, tight spaces, and unfinished areas
- Verify load accuracy and ensure deliveries are complete and correct
- Pick up return materials as assigned.
- Provide professional and courteous service on job sites
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Assist with loading materials, building loads, counting inventory and general yard or warehouse duties as needed
- Perform daily truck inspection and promptly identify all repairs necessary.
- Operate vehicle in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and immediately report any citations or violations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Heavy physical labor required daily
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of materials weighing 50-100+ lbs
- Repetitive bending, lifting, and walking
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Job sites may include stairs, uneven terrain, and active construction environments
