Job Description
Rate: $21-23/ hour
The Order Specialist plays a critical role in delivering a high-quality experience for some of gearUp’s most important customers. This role manages bulk and brand specific customer orders from entry through delivery, coordinating closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accuracy, speed, and reliability.
Our customers operate on tight timelines, and this position requires the ability to manage rapid order cycles, short deadlines, and changing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. The Order Specialist proactively communicates with Sales, Fulfillment, and supplier partners to resolve issues quickly and ensure orders move efficiently from purchase to delivery.
Success in this role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality results for high-value customers.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Create and process sales orders quickly and accurately.
- Purchase items from suppliers to fulfill orders.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy while handling time-sensitive, high-value orders.
- Identify potential delays early and work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues before they impact customers.
- Interact with the sales team, suppliers, and the fulfillment teams.
- Create, update and train others on workflow processes.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Other projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is motivated by a passion for learning and operational excellence and enjoys solving problems in a fast-moving environment. This person must be comfortable working with ambiguous requests, tight timelines, and shifting priorities, while maintaining accuracy and a strong customer focus.
Skills & Qualities
- In-person attendance is generally expected 40 hours per week.
- Attention to detail and accuracy and commitment to quality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 tools including Outlook, Excel, and Teams or other collaborative communication platform
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Speed and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think and act quickly to provide timely resolution to issues.
- Thrive in a high growth, fast paced environment.
- Calm and productive in the face of deadlines and changing priorities.
- Ability to read and interpret order requests and other written instructions.
- Ability to work overtime during peak season periods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous involvement in athletic programs a plus
Experience & Education
- 1-3 years of experience in order entry/management, purchasing, or customer service in a high-volume environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time
- Talking, listening, and typing for extended periods of time
- Manipulation of computer mouse and other small wrist movements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to kneel, squat, bend and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
