Burglary Monitoring Specialist - Richfield MN

As the Burglary Monitoring Specialist, you will be part of a crucial overnight team that protects Best Buy people, property, and stores across the country. You'll actively monitor security platforms to detect burglary risks, escalate real-time threats, and provide immediate support to field leaders and law enforcement when incidents occur. This is a full-time in-office position based at our Best Buy campus in Richfield, Minnesota, supporting overnight monitoring operations from 7:30 PM to 8:30 AM CST. Shifts are structured in 8-hour rotations (40 hours per week).

What you'll do

• Monitor CCTV and security platforms to identify questionable activity or potential burglary risk
• Evaluate active alarms and alert Key Holders and law enforcement when action is needed
• Act as the first-line liaison during burglary incidents before handing off to store leaders
• Capture pictures, video, incident summaries, and real-time information during events
• Provide nightly End-of-Day reporting, including incident summaries and key findings
• Track and analyze burglary methods, trends, and high-risk locations to recommend preventive strategies

Basic qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience working in customer service, analytics, security, or a related role
• 1+ years of experience with strong written communication skills, including documentation and report writing
• Ability to work overnight shifts

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working at a Best Buy store, Geek Squad Repair Depot, or a Best Buy Distribution Center
• 6+ months of CCTV or alarm system experience and incident reporting (Securitas, Everon/Everbridge, LVT, etc.)
• 6+ months of experience with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
• Background in law enforcement, asset protection, crisis response, or similar environments
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced situations, with strong written and verbal communication skills
