Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced business analyst (BA) to join the AmeriLife integrations team. This team is part of our Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) team, supporting strategic decision-making through data collection, management, integration, and reporting. The role involves close collaboration with corporate and affiliate stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable requirements for development teams. Success in this role requires curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to understand data/reporting needs.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions and document business needs (BRDs or user stories).
  • Create visual aids (e.g., mockups) to clarify requirements.
  • Facilitate review and approval of documentation with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Collaborate across IT teams to support initiatives.
  • Develop technical knowledge to anticipate development needs.
  • Ensure quality of delivered solutions through requirement reviews.
  • Manage user acceptance testing and business reviews.
  • Monitor backlog and support requests to maintain timely delivery.
  • Create user guides to support adoption of delivered capabilities.
  • Document and follow data definitions, lineage, and data quality rules for every initiative.
  • Define and track measurable outcomes tied to business value, time to insight, and user adoption.
  • Capture and validate non-functional requirements: performance, usability, privacy, and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a BA in data/reporting roles.
  • Experience documenting system-to-system integration requirements, including technical dependencies.
  • Knowledge of API documentation to capture endpoints, authentication, and data mapping needs.
  • Experience documenting data transformations, validations, and error-handling scenarios to support reliable data exchange.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or insurance industries.
  • Familiarity with process flow tools (e.g., Visio).
  • Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of agile/project management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Data manipulation skills (SQL, Excel).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMI-PBA, CBAP, CSPO).
  • Project management experience (RAID logs, MS Project).

Salary Range: $75,000to $95,000

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
