Job Description

Who are we and what do we do?

Corteva Agriscience intends to separate into two independent companies on or about October 1, 2026; this planned separation is subject to multiple conditions, including final approval of the transaction by its board of directors. It is Corteva’s current intention, should the separation occur, that this position will align with the Seed Company, Vylor, at the time of the intended separation. 

The Vylor innovation engine will be anchored in the agriculture industry’s most elite germplasm and transformative biotech. The company will leverage its next generation scientific expertise in disciplines like gene editing and molecular breeding to further strengthen its core business while exploring opportunities to expand to new row crops – and potentially beyond. Vylor will scale these innovations using its leading routes-to-market and by significantly expanding its licensing business. 

As a member of our global enterprise communications team, the Business Communications Consultant will act as the liaison with seed portfolio and seed operations leaders and lead the development and execution of communications materials and projects. The role will also support the North America business communications lead in developing executive leader presentations and materials, supporting activation and execution of communications projects, and leading business editorial. This individual contributor role will work in a fast-paced environment, helping elevate how our commercial teams communicate and engage with multiple audiences.

Primary Responsibilities - How will you help us Grow!

  • Support Vylor’s North America business communications lead on developing presentations and communications materials for commercial business updates, announcements and key milestones.
  • Provide counsel and creative execution on stakeholder communications for seed portfolio and seed operations leaders.
  • Lead editorial planning and development of articles about commercial employees and the business for sharing on Vylor’s intranet and newsletter.
  • Help implement global enterprise communications strategy by supporting programs and campaigns.
  • Ensure appropriate reviews, edits and delivery of communications are completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with the North America Business Communications Lead to support execution of an integrated communications strategy.
  • Integrate technologies, data and best practices to ensure continued effectiveness of messaging across audiences.
  • Plus, additional communication activities assigned, as needed.

Education and Experience – What you will bring to the table!

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or similar field.
  • 6+ years of communications experience (employee communications, media and digital communications) or aptitude to learn and apply this knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proven track record of working with leaders in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • Strong, diverse communications experience including knowledge of leadership and customer communications, deploying multi-channel/digital communications campaigns, working knowledge of media relations.
  • Ability to understand high-level functional operations and contribution to agriculture.
  • Strong organizational skills, including project management and prioritization ability.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.
  • Excellent judgement and professional demeanor; ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced/changing environment, especially during an issue/crisis response.
  • Motivated individual able to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to be proactive and work in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to learn and understand business goals and principles.
  • Ability to manage a variety of stakeholders and distill multiple sources of information.

Competencies/Qualifications

  • Ability to Travel.
  • In-house communications experience (preferred).
  • Experience within agriculture, manufacturing or technology industry (preferred).
  • Previous role in employee or corporate communications, issues/crisis or media relations.
  • Technical proficiency in seed traits, digital technology and/or biology a plus.
