Business Development Analyst: Investment Banking (M&A)

The Role
As a Business Development Analyst, you will support our business development team across the full origination process, from first outreach to signed mandate. This is an entry-level role for someone who wants hands-on exposure to how sell-side deals are sourced, qualified, and won.
- Outreach Support: Help build and run outreach campaigns targeting founders and executives of SaaS and TMT companies, including target list building, prospect research, and email sequencing.
- Client Engagement Support: Prepare for discovery calls by researching prospects and compiling SaaS metrics and financial information. Join calls with founders and C-level executives alongside senior team members, and summarize key takeaways and next steps.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain CRM records, track lead status, and coordinate follow-ups so high-potential leads move toward conversion.
- Market Research: Research technology trends, market dynamics, comparable transactions, and active buyers to inform outreach strategy and pitch positioning.
- Deal and Pitch Materials: Assist in building presentations, proposals, and company profiles under the guidance of Associates and senior bankers.
- Collaboration & Learning: Work closely with the business development and execution teams, and learn sourcing and relationship management best practices directly from experienced dealmakers.
What We Are Looking For
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. Recent graduates are welcome. Internship experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, or sales is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Solid understanding of financial statements and a strong interest in learning SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, etc.) and M&A deal structures. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Interpersonal & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, a professional presence, and comfort engaging with senior executives and founders.
- Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. Self-driven, coachable, and eager to grow in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
