With that in mind, we’re currently seeking a motivated communicator and connector to join our award-winning team in pursuit of new and meaningful ways to embody our brand, strengthen our market position and perception, and drive target audiences to take measurable action.We're looking for someone who can be both a relationship builder and a facilitator of relationships – equally comfortable representing our firm at industry events, helping our technical experts prepare for client meetings, or developing strategies to track our business development efforts. Success in this role means being a trusted face of our firm while ensuring our business development efforts stay coordinated and strategic. - Build and nurture meaningful connections with our community, clients, prospects, and industry partners through active participation in conferences and events both in DC and Richmond as well as other geographies; gather information and leads
- Collaborate with sector leaders and technical experts to develop and execute business development strategies and maximize networking and speaking opportunities
- Support and coordinate employee participation in industry events and organizations, including opportunities, and exhibit management
- Lead our client experience (CX) strategy from initial touchpoints through project delivery and beyond
- Coach technical experts on relationship building and effective verbal communication
- Lead opportunity tracking and client management in our CRM. Train our sector leaders and technical experts in lead tracking and relationship management best practices
- Manage firm memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships with allied organizations
- Support strategic pursuits through go/no-go analysis, proposal development, and interview preparation
- In collaboration with others on the marketing team, coordinate client and partner events, including sponsorship outreach for Hickok Cole’s annual Art Night
- Support coordination of project photoshoots and overall photo and video asset management
- Collaborate with other marketing team members on strategic marketing initiatives, including campaigns, communications, collateral development, advertising, and public relations
- Other responsibilities as needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and build relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook); familiarity with CRM software is a plus
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Understanding of marketing and business development fundamentals
- Experience coordinating or supporting networking events, conferences, or industry outreach efforts
- Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment and remain professional under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills: friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Open to direction and feedback, listens and seeks clarification
- Experience in AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) or professional services industries preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Architecture, Interior Design, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field
- 7+ years’ experience in business development, marketing, or communications related field (AEC experience preferred)
- Experience with Deltek Vision, Deltek VantagePoint, or another CRM is a plus
