This role is focused on acquiring new clients, expanding market share, and delivering tailored supply chain solutions across air, ocean, and ground freight services.

The ideal candidate is a high-performing sales professional with a strong background in freight forwarding, 3PL, or logistics services, and a proven ability to close new business in a competitive market.

Job Details:Our Manufacturing Company is looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Logistics, Freight Forwarding, and Supply Chain team. This is a permanent position that covers the Eastern U.S. region. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving new business growth, managing client relationships, and utilizing CRM systems to their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identifying, qualifying, and securing business opportunities in the logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain sector within the Eastern U.S. region.
  2. Developing and implementing strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  3. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction.
  4. Utilizing CRM systems to track all sales activities, client communications, and forecast future sales.
  5. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth operation and delivery of services.
  6. Keeping abreast of market trends, industry news, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  7. Conducting regular reviews and reports on business development activities and sales performance.
  8. Providing leadership and guidance to the sales team, setting performance goals, and ensuring team alignment with company strategies.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, specifically B2B sales, within the logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain industry.
  3. Proven track record of identifying new business opportunities and converting them into sales.
  4. Strong understanding of CRM systems and their use in managing and forecasting sales.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  6. Ability to develop strong relationships with clients, understand their needs, and ensure their satisfaction.
  7. Knowledge of market trends, industry news, and competitor activities in the logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain industry.
  8. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards achieving sales goals.
  9. Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospective clients within the Eastern U.S. region.
  10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
