About Team North Star
Team North Star is a fast-growing Farmers Insurance district in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area, supporting 30+ agencies across the Twin Cities. Were focused on building high-performing teams, developing talent, and helping clients protect what matters most.
Position Overview:
This program gives driven individuals the opportunity to build their own commercial insurance book while partnering with existing Farmers agents. The Business Insurance Specialist will work alongside existing Farmers agency owners to market, quote, and place commercial insurance policies for small to mid-sized businesses. As a Business Insurance Specialist, youll prospect, consult with business owners, develop tailored coverage recommendations, and manage customer relationships.

Salary Range: $48000.00 - $60000.00 per year

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and connect with local business owners through networking, referrals, and outreach
- Identify opportunities within existing agencies and existing relationships
- Conduct needs-based conversations to understand business risks
- Present tailored commercial insurance solutions, including: General Liability, Business Owners Policies (BOPs), Workers' Compensation, Commercial Auto, and Commercial Umbrella
- Prepare quotes, present options, and close new business
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with business clients
- Partner with agency teams to identify and support commercial opportunities
Qualifications:
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License
- 2+ years of experience in insurance sales, sales, or business development, specifically in commercial insurance
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and with a team
- Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable managing a sales pipeline and closing business
- Experience using CRM systems and quoting platforms preferred
