Job Description

Summary

Business Intelligence Internships are specifically designed for students who are interested in the application of data in retail business or Buckle employees with a desire to explore career options. Interns will be placed within the BI team and will contribute to that team's planned work. Interns are expected to learn new methodologies, technologies and skills and follow best practice guidelines in an enterprise environment while gaining experience in their field of study.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the daily work within an enterprise data environment focused on development, engineering or infrastructure automation.
  • Assist the assigned team in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade data systems utilizing best practices.
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications and meet security standards.
  • Assist in preparing and producing releases of components and/or process and system updates.
  • Demonstrate proactive learning and to understand best practices and design patterns.
  • Use applicable industry-specific tools such as code repositories and integrated development environments (IDEs) to enhance productivity.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and fixing reported issues.
  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Currently Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or similar technical discipline. Prior exposure to databases and/or analytics tools is required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
