The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Early Childhood and Family Support Division / Business Systems & Operations Bureau.
The Business Systems & Operations (BSO) Business Systems Supervisor serves as a liaison between business stakeholders, project managers, and information technology staff to elicit, analyze, communicate, test, and validate requirements for new or changed business processes, policies, and information systems. The position will provide direct support for IT data systems, many of which utilize the Salesforce platform, utilized by the Division by 1) Overseeing the design, development, testing, and implementation of system changes or enhancements; 2) Analyzing data and communicating the results in narrative, quantitative, and visual content as necessary; and 3) Administering the security for data system applications.
This position will supervise the Business Systems Unit to ensure decisions and actions are aligned with policies, laws, and best practices. As the unit supervisor, this position will perform management functions, including hiring, performance management, discipline, work distribution, and employee development.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of information system analysis, design and development.
Knowledge of the practice and principles of Joint Application Development (JAD) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system validation.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to interact with a diverse group, federal officers, staff, and subject matter experts.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, computer science, database management, analytics, or related field.
Five years of experience as a business analyst or related work.
Two years of supervisory experience.
Equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred:
Professional experience with the Department of Public Health and Human Services maternal and/or early childhood programs, or other related government social services.
Experience with Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 or later, or another relational database
Experience with Salesforce administration.

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory 2.5% an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026.
The primary location for this position is open for consideration contingent on available workspace. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state and DPHHS policies.
