The Senior Tax Accountant will work on complex business tax returns, collaborate across the Southeast, and gain exposure to diverse industries. High performers have defined paths to Manager, Senior Manager, and Shareholder roles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Preparation & Compliance

Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local business tax returns
Address client tax questions professionally
Handle routine tax matters independently, escalate complex issues

2. Client Engagement

Conduct client meetings for information gathering
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Identify opportunities to expand services across other service lines

3. Planning, Research & Consulting

Support tax planning, research, and consulting projects
Participate in ad hoc tax engagements

4. Project & Time Management

Monitor time and billing
Recommend billing amounts to supervisors or shareholders

5. Compliance & Professional Standards

Follow policies, confidentiality standards, and ethical guidelines
Adhere to regulations from AICPA, Tennessee Society of CPAs, Tennessee Board of Public Accountancy, and other applicable bodies

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education & Credentials

Bachelor’s Degree (required)
CPA license preferred (or 150 credit hours required to sit for CPA exam)

Experience

2+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably in public accounting

Skills & Traits

Strong technical tax knowledge
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
Growth mindset with interest in long-term career advancement
