About The Role:
Dead River Company is seeking a Business Training Specialist to deliver high-quality, foundational training that equips employees with the core knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to succeed. In this role, you will lead the design and facilitation of learning programs. You will ensure a consistent, engaging training experience across all company locations while supporting onboarding, employee development, and operational alignment.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about developing people, fostering engagement, and building strong foundational learning programs that drive performance and culture.
What You'll Do:
Deliver Engaging Training
Facilitate classroom, small group, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions
Deliver consistent foundational training across all company locations
Reinforce company policies, procedures, safety expectations, and service standards
Promote accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
Design & Develop Learning Programs
Create and update training materials aligned with company standards
Develop structured onboarding and learning pathways
Design engaging learning experiences for diverse audiences
Measure training effectiveness through assessments and feedback
Support Employee Growth
Partner with operations leadership to identify development needs
Provide coaching and targeted retraining when necessary
Support onboarding initiatives to accelerate cultural alignment and engagement
Maintain accurate records of training completion and employee progress
Drive Continuous Improvement
Conduct training needs assessments with internal stakeholders
Develop training plans with clear objectives, timelines, and outcomes
Support employees through organizational changes and new initiatives
Stay current on best practices in adult learning and facilitation
What You Bring:
5+ years of industry or related field experience preferred
Experience in training, mentoring, coaching, or supervisory roles
Strong understanding of workplace safety and operational standards
Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
Ability to influence and support positive organizational change
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness to travel regularly throughout ME, NH, VT, MA, and NY
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
