Job Description

Piqua Materials is a local crushed limestone producer, which has been operation since the 1800's. We are currently seeking self-motivated and dependable full-time 2nd shift Mill Operator to work in Piqua, OH.

The Mill Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the Piqua Mill. This position includes performing maintenance, operating equipment, loading bulk trucks, and supporting daily production activities. The ideal candidate is punctual, safety-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work in a variety of conditions and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced industrial environment.

2nd Shift Mill Operators Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mill equipment and systems.

  • Safely load bulk tank trucks and ensure accurate documentation of materials.

  • Operate machinery and heavy equipment, including skid steers and other mobile equipment.

  • Use hand and power tools to complete repairs, maintenance, and fabrication tasks.

  • Assist with facility upkeep, including tasks performed at elevated heights.

  • Work effectively in inclement weather and temperature extremes, both indoors and outdoors.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to ensure smooth operations.

  • Support production as needed to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.

2nd Shift Mill Operators Desired Qualifications:

  • Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic.

  • Maintenance oriented with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Not afraid of heights and able to work safely in elevated areas.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to operate a skid steer (experience preferred).

  • Safety oriented, with a commitment to following proper procedures.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools.

  • Comfortable working in inclement temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
