Responsibilities
- The Cable Splicing Supervisor is required to travel (domestic and foreign) in performance of their job.
- This position is responsible for daily-jointing operations on board vessels.
- Supervise and perform cable and repeater jointing.
- Ensure that personnel and jointing equipment on board vessels are capable of meeting the installation and maintenance requirements.
- Provide joint and coupling material forecasts for construction and maintenance operations.
- Provision of jointing deliverables required under contracts
- Maintain adequate shipboard supplies of materials for repair and construction operations, and on site tutelage.
- Manage field and office Cable Splicers and ensure that their training and skill sets match the requirements for the project they are assigned to.
- Ensure that all jointing equipment is in working order and that materials are adequate to meet the customer's requirements.
- Work could be performed ashore, as well as aboard cable ships or barges.
