Dental CAD/CAM Designer.
Location: Birmingham, AL.Job Type: Full-time, On-site.Schedule: 8-hour shifts.
About the Opportunity:
A rapidly growing dental laboratory in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking an experienced Dental CAD/CAM Designer to join its team. The laboratory offers a strong benefits package, long-term stability, and the opportunity to contribute to a growing digital department.
We are looking for a well-rounded, enthusiastic, and organized professional who takes pride in producing accurate, functional, and esthetic restorations and enjoys collaborating with a skilled laboratory team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design dental restorations using 3Shape and/or Exocad.
- Design Crown & Bridge restorations, implant restorations, and more complex restorative cases based on experience.
- Support full-arch, All-on-X, and large reconstructive cases as needed.
- Review digital scans, prescriptions, and case requirements before beginning each design.
- Ensure designs meet standards for anatomy, occlusion, margins, contacts, function, and esthetics.
- Communicate with the laboratory team to clarify instructions and resolve design questions.
- Collaborate with technicians, managers, and clinical partners on complex cases.
- Maintain consistent quality while meeting production deadlines.
- Help improve digital workflows and overall production efficiency.
- Provide guidance to junior team members as appropriate to experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dental CAD/CAM Designer in a dental laboratory.
- Strong working knowledge of 3Shape and/or Exocad.
- Experience designing Crown & Bridge restorations.
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, margins, contacts, and esthetics.
- Ability to interpret prescriptions and follow detailed case instructions.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage case deadlines.
- Reliable, collaborative approach with strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing implant restorations.
- Experience with full-arch, All-on-X, or large reconstructive cases.
- Experience assisting with digital workflow improvements or supporting junior designers.
