Job Description:

Parsons is now accepting applications for our Summer 2026 Transportation CAD Drafting Internship in Indianapolis. This internship is intended for students or recent graduates of CAD/drafting certificate or technical training programs who want hands‑on experience creating transportation drawings in MicroStation.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Utilizing MicroStation to develop engineering drawings consisting of standard arrangements, layouts, details, isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures

• Working closely with other Designer/Detailers and Engineers to ensure a coordinated design

• Applying standard design/detailing/drafting principles and theories to complete assignments

• Utilizing technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state standards and codes (e.g., State-level Road Design Manuals and Standard Drawings)

• Ensuring compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications

• Compiling data and performing dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings

• Making required changes, additions, and/or revisions as directed by your immediate supervisor

What Required Qualifications You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a CAD/Drafting certificate or technical training program

• Basic experience with MicroStation or similar CAD software

What Preferred Qualifications You'll Bring:

• Experience creating 2D drawings from sketches/redlines

• Familiarity with reading engineering or construction drawings

Note: This internship is focused on CAD/drafting skills, not engineering design. Candidates from CAD certificate or technical programs are strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: $18.94 - $33.17
