CAD Designer

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a CAD Designer for a client supporting government, military, and regulated-industry fabrication projects in Portland, OR. This role is responsible for reviewing specifications, updating CAD drawings, documenting field changes, and ensuring fabrication and installation details meet required codes and quality-control standards.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $35.65–$41.27/hour DOE

Shift: Day Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Review specifications and interpret contract drawing requirements

• Update and revise AutoCAD drawings accurately based on project and field needs

• Document field changes and maintain redline/as-built drawings

• Apply correct weld symbol and callout standards to drawings

• Prepare and maintain PCP documentation in line with project requirements

• Ensure fabrication and installation details comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer/government quality-control expectations

• Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support accurate project execution

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD

• Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting government, military, or regulated-industry projects

• Working understanding of applicable drawing-control requirements

• Experience with redline/as-built drawing procedures

• Familiarity with weld symbol/callout standards

• Experience with PCP documentation

• Ability to review specifications and interpret contract drawing requirements

• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Work Environment

This role operates primarily in an office/drafting environment, with regular coordination alongside engineering, quality, and production teams. Occasional time on the shop floor may be required to verify field conditions and document changes. Strong attention to detail and adherence to documentation standards are essential.
