Job Overview
Client is seeking an experienced CAD Work Designer to support advanced engineering projects within the Accelerator Physics & Superconducting Technology Division. This onsite role involves preparing high-quality mechanical designs and drawings using NX1980 and Teamcenter, while adhering to ASME GD&T standards.
The designer will work closely with engineering staff to develop, analyze, and document mechanical design solutions that support large-scale scientific and accelerator projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical designs and drawings using NX1980, managed in Teamcenter
- Apply ASME Y14.5-M-1994 (or higher) GD&T standards correctly
- Develop advanced 3D models and detailed 2D drawings
- Perform tolerance analysis and stack-up calculations
- Create layout designs and detailed mechanical documentation
- Collaborate directly with engineers to research and analyze design solutions
- Select and specify design components and materials
- Meet project schedules and quality requirements
- Ensure all work complies with QAM and Design/Drafting procedures

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanical CAD Designer
- Strong proficiency in NX1980 CAD (validated via Zoom interview)
- Experience using Teamcenter
- Solid understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5 standards)
- Ability to deliver high-quality work in deadline-driven environments
- Ability to work onsite in Batavia, IL
- U.S. Citizenship required
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, or related field (preferred)
