Expected hiring range $15.00 to $17.50 based on education, experience, and skills.

Description / Duties: Provide supervision of seasonal Day Camp Counselors, volunteers, and campers. Planning, organizing, supervision, implementation, and oversight of daily schedule of activities for youth in both indoor and outdoor day camp recreational settings.

• Provide direct leadership and supervision to assigned day camp programs and services.
• Provide developmentally appropriate activities that meet the needs and interests of the participants.
• Implement camp activities in program setting according to established schedule.
• Assist in the recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff and volunteers.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of reports and records regarding participants, programs, and services.
• Ensure accurate accounting for camper attendance.
• Accompany campers on field trips.
• May transport campers and supplies via a park district vehicle.
• Assist in the purchase, distribution, and maintenance of proper inventory of all supplies and materials.
• Establish cooperative working relationship with coworkers, parents, community agencies and organizations.
• Attend pertinent departmental/park district meetings and in-house training sessions.
• Conduct self in accordance with the policies and procedures as established by the park district.
• Participate in park district safety and training program to ensure that work performed and services provided are implemented in a safe manner.
