Camp Ice Cool Director (Part-Time, Seasonal)

JOB SUMMARY
In this fun and rewarding position, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all operations of your camp site
- Coordinating with the Figure Skating Director to create a schedule of events for the summer
- Actively supervising camp counselors to ensure staff are following proper procedures and adhering to safe practices
- Planning a full summer of daily activities and games
- Create staff schedule
- Maintain orderly records and file appropriate documents with the Figure Skating Director in a timely manner, including but not limited to: attendance records, sign in/out records, lesson plans, behavior/incident reports, accident reports, and receipts
- Coordinate staff training and regular meetings with camp staff to address program issues
- Develop and implement pool rotation to ensure camp participants are being properly supervised in the water (pool attendance dependent on camp)
- Ensure rooms and equipment are maintained properly
- Engaging in regular communication with parents, campers, and staff
- Ensuring safety for all participants and administering basic first aid, as necessary
- Assisting with set-up and break-down of campsite
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by following program budget
- Meet regularly with the Recreation Supervisor to communicate issues and request related to the program
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have:
- Experience working in a summer camp or equivalent
- Have skating experience and be able to assist skaters on the ice
- Knowledge and skills with computers and software (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Knowledge of camps and camp activities
- Requires flexibility of work schedules which may include arriving early, staying late
- Excellent skills in working with children
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents, campers, and staff
- Highly organized
SCHEDULING & PAY
This is a part-time position in the summer. Qualified persons MUST be available for:
- Training the week of June 1
- All weeks of camp beginning June 8 (end date will vary depending on the camp)
- Work weekdays, Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m.-6:15 p.m. (hours will vary depending on the camp)
- Camp Staff will be required to work on the 4th of July, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (hours will vary depending on staffing assignment)
Pay starts at $19.00/hour and is dependent on qualifications.
