Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Plaza Events Manager plans and executes community events that generate positive public relations, build community relationships, and increase market awareness — advancing the mission and goals of both Camperdown Plaza owners/tenants and AC Hotel Greenville.
Essential Job Functions:
Strategy & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies that deepen AC Hotel Greenville's community impact.
- Take initiative to build relationships with community leaders and organizations to create a vibrant events calendar.
- Maintain open communication with retailers, office tenants, residential partners, and community stakeholders regarding upcoming events, opportunities for collaboration, and property activities.
Event Planning & Execution
- Work with Auro Hotels and Camperdown Owners to plan, communicate, and execute community events that serve all stakeholders.
- Coordinate event scheduling with hotel operations (sales, banquets, rooms) and Camperdown partners (Trinity, CBRE, Security, Parking/Valet).
- Manage event logistics including parking, pedestrian traffic, noise, maintenance, permitting, and public safety.
- Purchase and maintain event supplies, equipment, and materials (sound system, signage, etc.).
Marketing & Communications
- Promote the events calendar and Camperdown news in accordance with company standards.
- Promote events through email, social media, website, and VGSC
- Serve as spokesperson for Camperdown as needed.
Administration & Finance
- Develop and manage an annual budget for plaza events and expenses.
- Track client fees and payments; maintain correspondence with accounting to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal guidelines.
- Attend weekly stakeholder meetings to keep all parties informed on schedules, maintenance, events, retailer needs, and logistics.
- Evaluate event performance and identify opportunities to improve programming, increase engagement, and support business objectives.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Upholds Auro Hotels’ Company Standards of Service at all times.
- Represents Camperdown and AC Hotel Greenville professionally with guests, vendors, and the public.
- Performs duties in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Treats guests, vendors, customers, and co-workers with professionalism and respect.
- Completes all departmental, Auro Hotels, and brand training as assigned.
- Applies safety and security procedures to maintain a secure environment for associates and guests.
- Maintains a positive working environment through favorable relationships with all company associates.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- Minimum 2 years of PR or event experience with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Graphics (Canva)/Social Media Experience
- Basic math skills for invoicing and budget management
- Hospitality experience highly recommended
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment, though outdoor work in varying weather conditions may be required during events. Position occasionally requires use of hands and arms and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
