Job Description

Position Title:

Career and Technical Education Consultant

Salary Range:

Education Consultant, Grade 16, exempt, $66,290 - $83,700. This range reflects the minimum to midpoint of the grade. Salary may exceed the midpoint and will commensurate with experience. The salary represented is pro-rated to 195-day salary.

Job Description Summary:

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Consultant supports Region V school districts in strengthening CTE learning through work-based learning, high school coursework, industry-recognized credentials, and career and technical student organizations. The role partners with school leadership, educators, and community partners to implement research-based practices that enhance student career readiness and expands equitable access to relevant career pathways. Through consulting, coaching, training, and coordination, the consultant helps build sustainable systems connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences, including facilitation of dual credit online learning with higher education partners. An equity-centered approach guides efforts to remove barriers and ensure inclusive access for all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designanddevelopcontentfortrainingcoursestofillgapsinestablishedprograms, andruncomplexorcustomizedtrainingcoursestoimproveemployee performance.Involvesfocusingonaspecificfunctionalarea.

  • Guidespecificsegmentswithincoaching,implementingstrategiestofacilitateimprovement,promotingopencommunication,andfosteringaconducivegrowthenvironment.

  • Develop,design,andimprovethecurriculum,selectcontent,assesstheprogramandreflectprimarilyinhighersecondaryortertiaryeducation.

  • Helpmanagementtoimplementqualityassurancechangeinitiativesand/or makecontinuousoperationalimprovements.

  • Mentor,coach,support,andprovideadviceandguidanceforserviceusers,in accordancewithguidelinesandstandards,tosupportthemthroughissuesand times of challenge and vulnerability.

  • Research,collate,andanalyzeinformationtoidentifykeythemesanddelivera broadrangeofstandardizedtraininganddocumentation,advice,orreportsto support client projects and programs.

  • Respondtopersonalobjectivesanduseperformancemanagementsystemsto improve personal performance.

  • Identifyshortcomingsinexistingprocesses,systems,andprocedures,anduse establishedchangemanagementprogramstoaddressthem.

  • Deliverevidence-basedprograms,facilitatinggroupandindividualsessionsin accordancewithadefinedprogram,tosupportself-developmentandpromote knowledge,skills,andresilience.Involvesmakingadaptationswithinthedefined programtomeettheneedsofparticipants.

  • Developowncapabilitiesbyparticipatinginassessmentanddevelopment planningactivitiesaswellasformalandinformaltrainingandcoaching;gainormaintainexternalprofessionalaccreditation,whererelevant,toimproveperformanceandfulfillpersonalpotential.Maintainanin-depthunderstandingof technology,externalregulation,andindustrybestpracticesthroughongoing education,attendingconferences,andreadingspecialistmedia.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’sdegreeineducationorrelatedfieldORacombinationofpostsecondarytraining,professionaleducation,andrelatedexperienceequivalentto four (4) years.

  • Six (6) years of experience in a certified role in K12 Career and Technical Education; of which the total years of experience include: Experience providing support to other educators such as coaching, training, or participating in committee leadership.

License:

  • Current Career and Technical Education License

  • Work-based learning license or willing to get one within the first 18 months of hire

  • Valid driver's license

This position is for 195 days per fiscal year.

Location:

  • Applicants should be located near or in the counties we serve (Region 5) and be able to commute to the office and throughout the region at least 7-9 days a month for meetings and support.

  • On occasion may be expected to attend meetings or trainings at Sourcewell's headquarters in Staples, MN, advance notice would be given to team member.
