Carrier Sales Manager Freight Brokerage / 3PL Logistics Houston, TX | Direct Hire | 100% In-Office - Northwest 77040An established international logistics organization is expanding its U.S. operations and seeking an experienced Carrier Sales Manager to lead and develop its carrier sales team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially strong, ethics-driven company with significant resources already in place. You'll play a key role in building carrier capacity, developing carrier relationships, and helping grow a high-performing logistics operation.What You'll Do
- Source, develop, and maintain relationships with reliable transportation carriers throughout the U.S.
- Negotiate rates and secure capacity across multiple freight modes.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of 5-7 junior Carrier Sales Representatives.
- Build and strengthen carrier partnerships to support customer freight needs.
- Work closely with operations and sales teams to ensure successful load execution.
- Monitor carrier performance and help drive service excellence.
- Manage capacity for Dry Van, Flatbed, Reefer, Drayage, TL, and LTL freight.
- 5+ years of carrier sales, carrier sourcing, or capacity management experience within a freight brokerage or 3PL environment.
- Experience building carrier relationships and securing capacity nationwide.
- Leadership experience managing, mentoring, or training carrier sales representatives.
- Strong knowledge of DAT, Truckstop, load boards, TMS platforms, and carrier sourcing tools.
- Working knowledge of TL, LTL, Dry Van, Flatbed, Reefer, and Drayage operations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- 5+ years of carrier sales or carrier sourcing experience within a freight brokerage or 3PL environment.
- Experience identifying, qualifying, and securing reliable carriers.
- Experience training, mentoring, or leading carrier sales professionals.
- Strong knowledge of transportation modes and carrier procurement strategies.
