Job Description

Established in 1998, Boston Neurobehavioral Associates provides comprehensive outpatient behavioral health and psychiatric care to all ages. In order to best serve the Greater Boston area, we have practice across Massachusetts, Florida, Rhode Island, Illinois, New York, New Jersey & Maryland .Led by Mohammad Munir, MD, the team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, therapists, neuropsychologists, and other medical professionals collaborate to provide well-rounded care individualized for each patient. Boston Neurobehavioral Associates providers offer care for a broad range of mental disorders and emotional difficulties.Patients can expect an accurate diagnosis, followed by an integrative treatment plan that is tailored for their unique needs. The practice regularly cares for patients who are dealing with depression, bipolar, anxiety, insomnia, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and OCD, among other conditions.Between individual psychotherapy, medication management, and customized lifestyle changes, patients learn to cope with their diagnosis and overcome it in time. We understand every patient has a different story that brought them to seek our care. As such, treatment plans are entirely individualized for each patient allowing them to experience optimal care.Boston Neurobehavioral Associates has a mission to spread awareness about the stigma of mental health by providing high-quality, accessible psychiatric care. The team is dedicated to meeting all of the professional expectations of each patient and their family in an effort to improve a patient’s quality of life.

We are looking for medical receptionist to join our team in Massachusetts Core Responsibilities:1. Patient Intake, Screening & Coordination

  • Conduct initial psychosocial and clinical intake screenings to determine patient readiness for advanced interventional procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on procedural timelines, safety protocols, side effects, and expected outcomes.
  • Coordinate scheduling across multidisciplinary teams, including interventional psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and recovery staff.
2. Care Pathway Management & Support
  • Build and track customized, individualized care plans for patients navigating treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, or OCD.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with patients to evaluate safety, measure progress, and identify any barriers to treatment.
  • Deliver vital crisis intervention and safety planning for high-risk patients experiencing acute psychiatric distress.
3. Utilization Review & Insurance Advocacy
  • Compile detailed clinical documentation required to secure prior authorizations for high-cost interventional therapies.
  • Manage the appeals process for insurance denials by working directly with payers and providing necessary utilization reviews.
  • Link patients to financial assistance programs, manufacturer savings cards, or external community resources when necessary.
4. Transition & Discharge Planning
  • Formulate robust longitudinal aftercare plans once an intensive interventional treatment series concludes.
  • Connect discharging patients back to community outpatient psychiatrists, therapists, and support networks to prevent relapse.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) preferred
  • Experience: 1+ years of behavioral health case management experience, ideally within an intensive outpatient program (IOP), hospital, or specialized neuromodulation clinic.
  • Core Competencies: Comprehensive understanding of treatment-resistant mental health conditions, clinical rating scales (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7), strict HIPAA compliance, and insurance authorization workflows.
