Job Description

We believe every child is a person of worth, entitled to God’s gift of wholeness of life.Position Type:Contract role, paid monthly upon submission of required billing documentsLocation:Henderson County, KY and surrounding countiesCompensation: $14 a day per diem for each active client $0.32 per mile reimbursementPosition Summary:Youth who are court‑ordered to home incarceration or home supervision are processed through the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Detention Alternatives Coordinators (DAC). DACs refer these youth to a Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes case workers.The Case Worker is responsible for monitoring each youth to ensure compliance with court mandates. Monitoring may include the use of GPS equipment placed on the youth or by in home supervision. Case Workers conduct weekly face‑to‑face visits and daily check‑ins by phone. Weekly performance reports are submitted to the referring DAC.Job Requirements:1. Minimum age of 21 with a high school diploma; prior case management or juvenile services experience preferred.2. Valid Kentucky driver’s license and willingness to undergo an intensive background check.3. Reliable transportation for extensive travel.4. Home office with laptop, printer/scanner, and a reliable cell phone service planPreferred Qualities:1. Self‑motivated and able to work independently after training.2. Strong computer and communication skills.3. Ability to manage one’s own schedule and meet deadlines consistently.4. Ideal for individuals with experience in the Department of Juvenile Justice, corrections, law enforcement, or the school system.Key Duties and Responsibilities:1. Maintain required contact with assigned youth, including at least one weekly face‑to‑face visit and daily phone communication.2. Remain accessible by cell phone for on‑call responsibilities at all times, or notify the Director of ATD Services when unavailable.3. Receive and process referrals and intakes according to Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) requirements.4. Maintain working knowledge of GPS tracking equipment, including proper use and upkeep.5. Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, including data for monthly billing, weekly progress reports, budgets, and year‑end program summaries.6. Participate in professional meetings, workshops, seminars, and training necessary to maintain expertise.7. Communicate all relevant information to the Director of ATD Services.8. Collaborate with community partners, primarily with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Detention Alternatives Coordinators (DAC) staff for effective case planning.9. Stay informed about current issues affecting youth.
