Job Description
Everstaff is seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join a growing financial services organization in Pepper Pike, OH.
This role is responsible for ensuring incoming payments are processed accurately and efficiently while supporting strong financial controls and overall operational effectiveness.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience working within accounting or finance environments, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Temp-To-Hire Opportunity
Pay: $24-$26/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Key Responsibilities
- Accurately apply incoming payments including lockbox, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions utilizing accounting systems
- Reconcile daily cash activity and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner
- Process chargebacks and credit memos while coordinating with internal departments as needed
- Partner with internal stakeholders to research and resolve payment-related questions and discrepancies
- Identify and appropriately escalate suspicious, unusual, or irregular payment activity
- Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audit requests
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with process improvement initiatives
- Support daily accounting operations while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience within accounting, cash application, accounts receivable, or finance-related roles
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and organization
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize responsibilities independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills within a collaborative environment
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Ability to successfully complete a criminal background screening
