Are you the kind of person who remembers a familiar face and likes helping people get on with their day? We’re looking for a dependable cashier to welcome customers, handle their purchases accurately, and help make Wood Shed a place people enjoy coming back to.
You don’t need to know everything about lumber or hardware when you start. You do need to be friendly, willing to learn, and comfortable asking a teammate for help when a customer needs more information.
What you’ll do
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful checkout service
- Process purchases, returns, and account payments accurately
- Answer phone calls and help customers find the right person or department
- Learn about our products, services, and store programs so you can answer common questions
- Keep the checkout area clean, stocked, and organized
- Help with stocking, displays, and other store tasks when needed
- Follow store procedures for handling payments and balancing the cash till
What we’re looking for
- A friendly, professional approach to customers and coworkers
- Dependability and attention to detail
- Basic math and computer skills, with a willingness to learn our checkout system
- The ability to stay organized and helpful when the store gets busy
- Willingness to help with a variety of tasks, including handling products as needed
Retail or cashier experience is helpful, but we’re happy to train someone who brings a good attitude and follows through.
Schedule
This position includes a mix of weekday and rotating weekend shifts, which may include Saturdays and Sundays. Opening, daytime, and closing shifts may be scheduled based on store needs. Hours may vary from week to week, and occasional holiday availability may be needed.

Carrollton, Missouri has had a locally-family owned lumber and hardware store for over 67 years. The tradition continues with the Eiserer family purchasing Warren Lumber Yard in June 2016 and operating the business as WOOD SHED Lumber & Hardware Supply – Do It Best.
We are committed to providing top notch customer service and great products to the greater Carrollton area and the communities of RayCounty, Livingston County, Saline County, La fayette County, Caldwell County, and Chariton County of Central Missouri.
We aim to provide the best electrical, plumbing, hardware, fasteners, hand and power tools, automotive, paint and sundries, gift and décor, gas and pellet grills, lumber and building materials. We don’t stop there, we help find solutions to help customers build, maintain, and entertain where they live and to impact and grow the communities we serve.
We offer over 67,000 items through our warehouse that can be shipped to your door, or to our store! Other services provided are UPS shipping and drop off location, key cutting, glass cutting, propane refills and delivery.Growing Our Roots
