Handles customer transactions and operates cash register by processing payments and providing change.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

Records sales transactions and operates cash registers to process payments from customers.
Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct.
Answers customers' questions and provides information on policies, products, and promotions.
Resolves customer complaints and notifies supervisors or managers when necessary.
Maintains clean and orderly areas and assists with stocking as needed.
Balances cash drawers and prepares daily cash reports.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Skills:

Ability to operate cash register and coin changer.

Experience:

One month experience in retail setting with use of cash register and cash handling, required.
