Join a growing company in Gorham, Maine, where youll help produce high-quality cast iron stoves and fireplace inserts while building valuable skills in manufacturing and assembly.As a Cast Iron Prep Machine Operator, you'll play a key part in daily production operations by preparing cast iron components, operating tools and machinery, and supporting efficient workflows across the facility. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork, and wants long-term career growth in a supportive environment.What Youll Do As a cast iron prep machine operator, you will be responsible for:
- Setting up and operating grinders, sanders, drilling machines, and related production equipment*
- Preparing and assembling cast iron components and finished products according to specifications*
- Reading and interpreting assembly instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings*
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively*
- Performing quality checks to ensure products meet company standards*
- Kitting, crating, and preparing products for shipment*
- Supporting production across multiple workstations as needed*
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment*
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to improve workflow and production efficiency*
- Following all company safety procedures and quality standards
- High school diploma or GED preferred*
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience preferred but not required*
- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools*
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions*
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic*
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment*
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks*
- Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the company*
- Basic computer skills are a plus, but training will be provided
