Catering Chef

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and reliable Catering Chef to join our culinary team. The Catering Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality food for catered events, ensuring consistency, presentation, and timely execution. This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in both kitchen and off-site event environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute menu items for catered events, including corporate events, private parties, weddings, and special occasions
• Assist with menu planning and recipe development for catering menus
• Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards
• Coordinate food preparation timelines to ensure on-time service for events
• Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe guidelines preferred)
• Assist with food inventory, ordering, and prep planning for upcoming events
• Work closely with the catering manager and event staff to ensure smooth event execution
• Pack, transport, and assist with food setup for off-site catering events when necessary
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and prep area

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a chef, line cook, or catering chef preferred
• Experience preparing food for large groups or events is a plus
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with large-batch cooking and event plating
• Creative menu development skills
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities
• Experience in Southern, upscale casual, or event-style cuisine is a plus
