Job Description
CDL-A Local Grocery Driver – Good Pay + $5K Bonus | Home Daily
Earn $100,000 average annual gross pay plus a $5,000 bonus delivering fresh and frozen groceries throughout the Northeast. Enjoy a consistent 5-day schedule, daily home time, and strong earning potential.
Pay Details
$100,000 Average Annual Gross Pay
- Average Weekly Pay: $1,950
- $5,000 Bonus
- Occasional layovers with hotel accommodations provided when required
Job Details
- Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using reefer trailers
- Routes include NYC boroughs, Long Island, and New Jersey
- Daily NYC deliveries expected
- Approximately 20-25 stops per week
- Typically one long load per day, with an additional load when hours permit
- Occasional returns and backhauls
- Approximately 1,381 miles per week
- Driver unloads 1-3 pallets per stop using an electric/manual pallet jack and liftgate
- Curbside deliveries are common in NYC; NJ deliveries are primarily dock-based
- Support other local accounts as needed
Shift Details
- Home daily
- 5-day workweek with a 6th day as needed
- Start times between 12:01 AM-1:30 AM
- Off Sunday plus one weekday; weekday off will not be Monday or Saturday
- Split days off
- 12-14 hour shifts
- 6th days required during certain holiday periods
- Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's work are not guaranteed
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of verifiable truck driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Preferred: At least 3 months of experience delivering in all NYC boroughs
- Reliable personal transportation to and from work
- Strong customer service skills
- No SAP drivers
- Riders not permitted
Equipment & Training
- 46', 48', 51', or 53' reefer trailers
- Automatic day cabs
- Slip-seat operation
- Trucks remain at the account and cannot be taken home
- Uniforms provided
