Responsibilities
- Operate semi-trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated local and regional locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of all deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and load details, in compliance with company and DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while on the road.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record and no major violations within the last three years.
- Minimum of 1 year of truck driving experience, preferably in a semi-local setting.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test as per company and federal regulations.
- Strong knowledge of highway and traffic laws, as well as safety protocols in the trucking industry.
- Ability to operate a variety of trucks and hauling equipment, with familiarity in using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
