Job SummaryThe CDL Class A Driver (LTL) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. Hours and WagesMonday-Friday, 7:30AM start - completion of route10-15 hours of overtime expected each week

Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week$24.00 -$30.75 per hour, based on experience

The posted pay range reflects the compensation range for this position. Starting pay will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, skills and internal equity. Employees are generally hired below the maximum of the range to allow room for future compensation growth as they gain experience, develop their skills and demonstrate increased proficiency in the role. Compensation increases are based on applicable company policies, performance and individual development Pay Grade and Position StatusPaygrade: FPosition Status: Full-TimeFLSA Status: NonexemptDuties and ResponsibilitiesConduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order

Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms

Deliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers

Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate

Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposes

Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies

Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily

Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills and AbilitiesAbility to operate a manual transmission

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement

Must possess good customer service and organizational skills

Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and ExperienceAt least 21 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical RequirementsAbility to pass a DOT physical

Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally

Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
