Job Description

About Bold Coast Seafood

Bold Coast Seafood operates a 100,000 square foot facility on the working waterfront of Prospect Harbor, Maine, built around a deepwater dock, a buying station, refrigerated tanks capable of holding over 200,000 pounds of lobster and crab, a state of the art processing floor, office space, and a research lab. We supply customers with high quality seafood harvested from the cold, clean waters of Maine, and we are currently expanding into a new business line: crab processing.

We built this company on the belief that people do their best work when they feel good about where they work. We address problems directly, we expect people to bring solutions rather than just complaints, and we support each other, even on hard days. As we grow, we are looking for people who want to grow with us.

About the Role

Bold Coast Seafood is hiring two CDL Drivers to handle local delivery of our live and processed seafood to resellers throughout the area. This is a hands-on role at the center of a live, perishable product business, so the driver is often the last touchpoint between our facility and the customer receiving the product.

We are looking for drivers who bring a genuine safety mindset to the job, on the road, on the loading dock, and around the equipment and product they are handling, and who take pride in representing Bold Coast Seafood well with every delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver live and processed seafood to local resellers and customers within the area, on time and in good condition.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and report any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Properly load, secure, and unload product, including live tanks and totes, to protect product quality and prevent spills, shifting loads, or injury.
  • Monitor and maintain proper temperature and handling conditions for live and perishable product while in transit.
  • Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies, and drive defensively in a range of weather and road conditions.
  • Complete delivery paperwork accurately, including bills of lading, delivery confirmations, and any required logs.
  • Communicate professionally with resellers and customers at each stop, and represent Bold Coast Seafood's culture of being part of the solution.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately, and participate in any required follow-up or training.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and loading areas.

What We're Looking For

  • A valid CDL in good standing, with the appropriate class and endorsements for the vehicle being driven.
  • A clean driving record; a motor vehicle record (MVR) check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
  • A genuine safety mindset, someone who looks out for themselves, the product, and everyone else on the road.
  • Willingness to submit to a drug screen and any required background check prior to and during employment.
  • Comfortable with local, day-shift delivery routes; this role does not require overnight travel.
  • Experience delivering perishable or refrigerated product is a plus, but not required.
  • A positive, solution-oriented attitude that fits our culture of bringing ideas forward instead of just flagging problems.
  • Ability to work full time, day shift, with reliable, on-time attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver totes, coolers, and live tanks, which can be heavy and awkward.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving, and to get in and out of the vehicle frequently throughout the day.
  • Comfortable working around live, wet product and varying temperatures, including outdoor loading and unloading.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, if required for the vehicle being operated.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (currently through Aetna).
  • Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), per Maine state requirements.
  • A growing company where you can see the direct impact of your work and help shape processes as we scale.

Bold Coast Seafood is an equal opportunity employer.
