Position Summary:
Seasonal Laborer (16+) are temporary positions at the Central Wisconsin Airport that supplement the full-time Operations and Maintenance Technician staff by maintaining lawns and landscaping in front of the terminal building and around the parking lots of the airport. These employees may also be asked to assist full-time staff on larger maintenance projects inside the terminal and possibly on the airfield under direct supervision. Two positions are available and will be filled in April. Start dates for the positions will be in late May or early June, and positions will end in August to mid-October depending upon availability of seasonal employees and the needs for the Airport. Both positions are for 40 hours/week. Anticipated work schedule will be either 8AM-4PM M-F or 6AM-4PM M-Th at each selected candidate's discretion.
Examples of Work Performed:
The following duties are typical of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required or assigned.
- Perform landside and airside mowing; operate riding mowers, push mowers, and various trimmers
- Perform airport custodial services including cleaning floors, windows and restrooms, emptying wastebaskets, and ensuring the clean appearance of the passenger terminal building
- Assist full-time staff with larger maintenance projects under direct supervision
- Participate in airport team building exercises including Marathon County culture initiatives
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass various background checks
- Must be at least 16 years old
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to contribute to a positive work culture that fosters excellent customer service and teamwork
- Ability to demonstrate basic computer proficiency, including effective use of common software applications and systems.
- Basic knowledge of lawn care, landscaping, and grounds maintenance, along with general workplace safety practices.
- Ability to safely operate basic hand tools and powered landscaping equipment such as riding lawn mowers, push mowers, and trimmers (training provided).
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work, including walking, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (sun, heat, humidity, rain, cold).
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with supervisors and coworkers.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely, reliable manner while maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.
Compensation:
Compensation begins at $15.00 per hour, with scheduled increases to $15.50 in year two and $16.00 in year three.

High Physical Requirements - Job requires significant physical exertion, with tasks that involve more active movement. This job may include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in manual labor.
