Certified/Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Job Summary:Alameda Elder Services is currently seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team full-time in Alameda, California. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist in providing high-quality physical therapy services to our patients. The PTA will work with a group of patients with varying needs and conditions.Compensation & Benefits:This is a full-time, hourly position with a compensation range of $37 to $42 per hour (DOE). • Assist licensed physical therapist in evaluating patient's condition, assessing progress, and developing a treatment plan
• Assist in implementing treatment plans that include exercise, massage, and other therapeutic techniques
• Document patient progress and communicate updates to the treating physical therapist
• Educate patients and families on proper techniques and exercises to facilitate recovery and prevent further injury
• Maintain a clean and organized therapy area and monitor equipment inventory
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the patient receives well-rounded care
• Stay current with developments in the field of physical therapy and attend continuing education courses as needed

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current and valid PTA license in the state of California
• BLS certification
• Knowledge of and experience with various therapy techniques and equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Prior experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Fingerprint clearance from the FBI and DOJ

We have two locations in Alameda (Webster Street and Island Drive) and the PTA position will work in both locations.
