Overview
Job Description
- Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the department.
- Able to assume any position within the department to assist in the workload or respond to patient emergencies.
- Conduct regular inspections using checklists of the department’s production to ensure compliance and efficiency of operations.
- Address escalating delivery issues that may arise with patients.
- Ensure the operations of the Modalities department meet patient expectations.
- Work with the Medical Services Manager and HR to onboard new hires within the assigned area, including on-the-job training and acting as the new hire’s buddy for the first two weeks.
- Assist the Medical Services Manager in organizing staff schedules based on absences and days with increased patient traffic.
- Work with the Medical Services Manager to train and retrain staff on the application of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Ensure staff are completing daily and weekly position checklists.
- Maintain adequate inventory of office and medical supplies and submit requests as necessary.
- Inspect the department for cleanliness and ensure cleaning checklists are completed routinely.
- Analyze situations, identify problems, implement solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Evaluate and maintain policy application throughout the department to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Assist in building company culture by creating a work environment focused on rewarding employees based on production and accomplishments.
- Identify training needs of Modalities Technicians and facilitate on-the-job training as applicable.
- Prepare and/or review reports related to weekly statistics and departmental production.
- Interact positively and demonstrate professional behavior and communication with employees and patients to foster a respectful and supportive workplace.
- Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Graduate of High school/GED or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health care setting, preferably in alternative health care.
- Demonstrated experience developing teams and establishing achievable performance goals.
- Demonstrated patience and compassion when working with patients who are ill.
- Superior communication skills and strong leadership presence.
- Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
- Critical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology with the ability to learn new clinical skills.
- Ability to manage stress and multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
