Job Description

Responsibilities & Duties 
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for physical exam
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
  • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Cross-train and assist in other areas of the clinic as operational needs require such as a receptionist
Qualifications
  • CMA-Certified Medical Assistant Current certification by one the following approved certifying agencies:American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning CMA credentialAmerican Medical Technologists (AMT), earning RMA credentialNational Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning NCMA credentialNational HealthCare Association (NHA), earning CCMA credential
  • Weekday, Weekend and Holiday work availability
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk for long periods of time
  • Potential exposure to potentially infectious materials and chemicals
  • BLS/First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) is preferred
  • MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO BOTH OUR HINSDALE, NEW LENOX & MORRIS LOCATIONS
