Pay rate ranges from $21.32 to $23.22 based on experience. Unit Notes:PPA - Perioperative Patient Associate

of beds* 8 OR Beds: 5-6 PPA in department during shift*

Required Certifications: * BLS

Common diagnoses/Types of patients:* Picking up surgical patients from the floor, would not get ICU patient by themselves, RN and doctor to assist in transport* *

Experience or 'Must have' skills: Some sort of Hospital working experience, OR is preferred. CNA, CST, SPD etc.Must be willing to learn on the job, and doing housekeeping duties

Duties:* Not an OR patient facing job. Most patient interaction will be from transport or occasionally answering a phone as directed by the charge nurse. Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher. PPA will turn around operating rooms, Assist in set-up and retrieval of equipment serve as a runner for equipment located outside of the operating room, Transport sterile instruments and trays to and from sterile processing if needed, Respond to pages to assist with procedure room turnover. Will teach staff about sterile equipment and processing aspects of job.
