Job Summary:The CNA Instructor will teach the NYS-approved CNA curriculum that requires 130 hours of instruction, lab, and clinical hours combined. The class will meet three to four days a week during the day (9 AM-1 PM) or in the evening (5 PM-9 PM). The instructional and lab hours will be completed on campus, or an approved off-campus site, and the clinical component will be taught off campus at an approved site in Sullivan County. This course prepares students to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Professional Registered Nurse and/or a licensed practical nurse. Once completed, students are eligible to take the state exam to be certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA). This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing programs.Qualifications:Verification of current New York State Professional Nurse RegistrationPossess two years of experience caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill

Evidence of:certification to teach Nurse Aide or Practical Nursing ORtwo years of experience teaching nurse aides in a residential health care facility ORthree years of experience teaching nursing or nursing-related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the Commissioner of Education ORcompletion of the State-approved "Train the Trainer" program

Duties and Responsibilities:Teach the CNA curriculum as approved by NYSED. Teach the classroom, lab, and clinical components of the program.Provide instruction, assessment, and mentoring to students.Prepare students to take the NYSED exam. Provide remediation to students if needed before and after the exam if students need to retake the certification exam.Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Nursing Programs.Salary:The full salary range is $50.00 per hour.
