Job Description
- Provide high-quality care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure residents' needs are met.
- Demonstrate excellnt interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and compassion, when interacting with residents and their families.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' health status and care provided, paying keen attention to detail.
- Create and maintain a clean and healthy environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols and sanitation standards.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of illness in residents and promptly report them to supervisors.
- Report instances of abuse, mistreatment, or neglect to appropriate authorities in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Show compassion and dignity when caring for dying residents, ensuring their comfort and attending to their personal needs.
- Communicate effectively with registered nurses, conveying any concerns or changes in residents' conditions.
- Other job related duties as assigned by the management.
- Completion of a Nurses Aide Training Program OR
- Graduation from an Accredited RN or LPN Program
- New York Certified Nursing Assistant (Required)
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Caregiving: 2 years
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassion for residents, especially those in vulnerable situations.
- Ability to recognize and respond to signs of distress or illness in residents.
- Commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality and privacy.
- Willingness to adhere to ethical standards and report any concerns promptly.
- Ability to lift and move residents with assistance.
- Stamina and endurance to work long shifts and perform physical tasks.
- Manual dexterity for assisting residents with ADLs and performing other duties.
