Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on nursing care to residents in a long-term care and skilled nursing setting.

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.

• Monitor, record, and report vital signs and changes in residents' physical or emotional conditions.

• Assist with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and ambulation to promote resident safety and comfort.

• Collaborate with Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other healthcare professionals to deliver individualized care.

• Maintain accurate documentation of daily care activities and resident observations.

• Follow established infection control procedures, safety standards, and facility policies.

• Provide emotional support and companionship while promoting resident dignity and independence.

• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, hydration, and nutritional support as appropriate.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe resident care environment.

Education & Certification Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

• CNA Certification: Active Montana CNA certification in good standing, or eligibility for Montana certification through an approved interstate process.

• CPR/BLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or as required by the facility.

• Experience: Previous experience in long-term care (LTC), skilled nursing facilities (SNF), nursing homes, assisted living, or geriatric care preferred.

• Strong understanding of resident care, patient safety, and infection prevention procedures.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
